16-week Social Skills Group
The PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) program is an evidence-based social skills training program for teens and young adults who struggle with making and keeping friends. Designed for individuals with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, or other social challenges, PEERS® teaches concrete skills for navigating social interactions in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Through role-playing, group practice, and real-life homework assignments, participants—and their caregivers—learn tools to build meaningful friendships, manage conflict, handle peer rejection, and improve overall social confidence. This program includes 16 engaging group sessions that cover a broad range of topics that strengthen the social skills of the participant.
The PEERS® curriculum specifically teaches the listed below skills.:

How to use appropriate conversational skills.

How to appropriately use electronic communication.

How to start, enter, and exit conversations with peers.

How to choose appropriate peers.

How to use appropriate humor.

How to organize successful get-togethers.

How to find a source of friends.

How to develop romantic relationships.

Dating etiquette/skills.
-
How to handle arguments and disagreements.
-
How to handle rejection, teasing, and bullying.
Location: This group will take place in person only. We offer this in the Shelton and Southbury surrounding areas.
Dates: Our program starts multiple times a year. Currently we are looking for families interested in a Spring 2026 date.
Time: Class is from 4 pm-6 pm. Arrival is from 4-4:30. We encourage people to arrive around 4 pm to engage in conversation with participants and coaches prior to the start of class.
Space is limited to 12 participants, but will require a minimum of 4 participants to successfully run.
